Presence → Web4

Conceptual framing

“Web4” in the context of Presence is not a formal standard, protocol, or technical specification.

It is a conceptual way to describe a possible evolution of the web where human presence exists independently of accounts, profiles, ownership, or surveillance.

What Presence actually is

Presence is a simple system that allows anonymous, ephemeral expressions to exist in a shared digital space.

It does not create identities, reputations, or networks. It does not store personal data. It does not track users.

What Web4 means here

The term “Web4” is used descriptively to express a design direction:

This is not a promise about the future of the web. It is a way to describe what Presence intentionally does today.
