HPK stands for Human Presence Key.

An HPK is a randomly generated identifier created when the app is first opened on a device.

What HPK does

The HPK allows the system to:

• apply rate limits
• prevent spam
• maintain short-lived presence state

What HPK is not

HPK is not:

• a personal identifier
• a user account
• a profile
• a tracking ID

HPKs are not linked to names, emails, devices, or real-world identity.
