Presence (“the App”) is developed by Presence Layer (“we”, “us”, or “our”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and keeping the experience anonymous and minimal.

1. Information We Collect

Presence does not collect, store, or request any personal or sensitive user data.

We do not collect:

• Your name
• Your email
• Your phone number
• Your contacts
• Your device identifiers
• Your precise location
• Advertising identifiers
• Usage analytics or tracking cookies

No personal profiles or accounts are created in the App.

2. Anonymous Data Processed for Functionality

To make the App work, Presence sends anonymous, non-identifiable information to our server:

• Your Presence expression (short text you write)
• Your chosen emoji/emotion
• A random HPK (Human Presence Key) generated on your device
• Basic region classification (continent-level only), derived anonymously

This data:

• cannot be linked to you personally
• is not used to identify you
• is not used for tracking or profiling
• is never sold or shared with third parties

3. No Tracking and No Third-Party Sharing

Presence does not:

• use analytics or advertising SDKs
• perform cross-app tracking
• share data with advertisers or data brokers
• sell or trade user data

4. Data Storage and Retention

• Expressions may be temporarily stored to display them in the public feed.
• Data is not linked to any real-world identity.
• HPK keys stay only on your device via secure storage.
• We do not store IP addresses for identification or profiling.

5. Children’s Privacy

Presence does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Because we collect no personal information, the App is suitable for general audiences.

6. Security

We use modern security practices to protect server communication. Because no personal data is collected, the risk exposure is minimal.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy. The latest version will always be available with the App or on our website.
